March 17, 2022 @ 17:30 - 20:00

Free

This workshop builds on the first PostGIS workshop the week before. We will explore more geospatial functionality like intersecting data sets, spatial joining or creating buffers. We will look into how to run queries faster.

At the end of this workshop you will be able to

  • use basic geospatial functions (intersection, union, buffers, joins)
  • import/export data to and from the database

Pre-requisites: Participation in “Introduction to working with PostGIS I” or similar knowledge. Further, if you want to use your own laptop, please have PostGreSQL 14 or higher and QGIS 3.16 or higher pre-installed on your system.

This workshop will be held in person in Burnside Hall BH511 and takes about 2.5 hours. The instructor will be Tim Elrick.
