Introduction to Mapbox

Interested in interactive online mapping and creating your own custom online maps? Join us at GIC’s “Introduction to Mapbox” Workshop! In this workshop, you will learn about the power of Mapbox, a popular platform for designing and customizing maps for your specific needs.

At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

– Understand Mapbox’s platform and capacities
– Understand data flow and requirements within Mapbox
– Styling and understanding the web interface of Mapbox Studio
– Create custom maps with custom data in Mapbox
– Basic Understanding of Mapbox GL JS

Prerequisites: none. However, please register an Earth Engine Map Box account (https://account.mapbox.com/) in advance, so you can create your own maps during the workshop.

The workshop takes about 2.5 hours and will be taking place in-person in Burnside BH511. The instructor will be Yanbing Chen.
