Working with ArcGIS Online and ESRI Story Maps

FreeArcGIS Online is a cloud-based geographic mapping program which allows you to share your creations with anyone, anywhere. This workshop will cover the basics of the ArcGIS Online interface, take you through an example project and ESRI StoryMap covering the Island of Montreal, and allow you to create a StoryMap of your own on a topic of your choosing.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Work comfortably with ArcGIS Online
- Create a map in ArcGIS Online
- Display data in a functional and visually appealing way
- Find and retrieve data and layer files from the Living Atlas
- Create your own StoryMap through ArcGIS Online
- Publish your own StoryMap through ArcGIS Online
Prerequisite: None!
Requirements: ArcGIS Online account (please contact us at gicsupport@mcgill.ca at least one day in advance of the workshop).
This workshop will be around 2-3 hours in Burnside Hall 511, COVID restrictions allowing, deviating from our usual pattern on a Wednesday! The instructor will be Meghan Ewing.
