Do you want to get your hands on one of the most popular and versatile programming languages? Do you want to start preparing yourself for the job market with highly demanded quantitative skills? This is your workshop! In this workshop, you will learn what Python is and how to use it. We will cover variable types and data structures and how to import data.

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to

  • understand basic concepts in Python
  • run first basic statistics on a dataset.

Prerequisites? none

Costs? McGill students: free of charge, McGill other: $ 50, external: $ 100 (priority given to McGill community)

The workshop will take about 2.5 hours with a short break in-between. The instructor is Tim Elrick.
