QGIS is an open-source software that offers an alternative to the ESRI ecosystem. While the software are built to perform similar tasks, how they each approach those tasks can be quite different from appearance to output.
By the end of this workshop, you will be introduced to QGISto display existing maps, render raster and vector data, perform simple operations, and play around with geospatial data. We will also cover how to display geographical information in different ways as well as producing a layout for your map with all relevant features (north arrow, scale bar, labels, etc.).
Costs: McGill students: free of charge, McGill other: $ 50, external: $ 100 (priority given to McGill community)
The workshop will take about 2 hours 15 minutes plus a 15 minutes break. The instructor is TBD.
