Applied Data Science in R: Working with real-time Covid-19 data – Take 2 [via Zoom]
Mon, May 25, 2020
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Number of available spots
As there was high demand for the first applied data science workshop on Covid-19 data, we will have another round of it:
Let’s turn our ‘stay at home’ situation in advancing your skills in data science at the example of the data of our time. This workshop is for anyone with a basic knowledge of R to learn how to get data from the internet, clean your data, analyse and visualize it. This time we even will dip into time series analysis. In the end you will be able to create similar output as shown on our Covid-19 page: https://gic.geog.mcgill.ca/covid-19/
To participate, please register below. Shortly before the event starts, you will receive a Zoom link for the workshop.
Please have the latest version of R and RStudio installed, as well as the tidyverse package.
Prerequisite: “Intro to Data Science with R” or equivalent
The workshop will take about 2 hours with a short break in-between. The instructor is Tim Elrick.
If you are a McGill student, faculty or staff member, please use your McGill e-mail address.
Bookings are closed for this event.
