Do you want to produce nice looking data visualizations beyond the base graphs in R? This is your workshop. We will cover the ‘grammar’ of the ggplot2 package to enable you to produce quite complicated graphs of various types and shapes.

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to

  • understand the structure of ggplot2 package graphs
  • apply the structure to produce various graphs
  • understand how to change the aesthetics of graphs
  • understand how to use themes and labels in ggplot2

Prerequisite: Knowledge from workshop “Introduction to Data Science with R” or equivalent

Costs: McGill students: free of charge, McGill staff and faculty: $ 50.

The workshop will take about 2.5 hours with a short break in-between and will take place at McGill’s MacDonald in the MacDonald-Stewart building, room 2-028/29. The instructor is Tim Elrick.

If you are a McGill student, faculty or staff member, please use your McGill e-mail address.
