Introduction to Git

If you ever wanted to keep track of your changes in your coding of R and Python, a csv table or any other plain text documents, Git and GitHub are your friends. Join in on this version control workshop that allows you to get more control over your reproduciblity of your work.

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to

  • understand how to set up a Git account
  • create repositories and track changes
  • know how to use GitHub and collaborate
  • have an introductory understanding of conflict resolution

Pre-requisites: none

This workshop will be hosted online on Zoom and takes about 2.5 hours. We will send you the Zoom link and instructions to prepare your computer one day in advance (please note, that the registration therefore closes 24 hours before). The instructor will be Hongyu Zhang.
