Introduction to Data Science with R

When? 26 Mar 2018, 15:00 to 17:45
Where? Classroom 511

Are you looking for an alternative to commercial statistical packages? Are you interested in how to easily handle data sets (‘rectangular data’) in R? Do you want to get a grip on the tidyverse packages? Then this is your workshop!

We will cover how to clean, prepare and explore data sets by using real world data. In this workshop, you will get to know how R  will support you at great length to import, clean and process your data to make it ready for analyses. (Note: This new version of the workshop does not require any knowledge of R at all – although it does not hurt to have some 😉 )

Prerequisites: none

Costs: McGill students: free of charge, McGill other: $ 50, external: $ 100 (priority given to McGill community)

The workshop will take about 2.5 hours with a 15 minutes break. The instructor is Dr. Tim Elrick.
